Having grown up in sunny Southern California, Sam currently lives outside Space City (Houston, TX) with his wife Emily and their pup, Pebble. After accidentally producing a music video while attending Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, he fell into the world of film and television. Being one of the few people in The Industry with a BA in Business Management opened doors in the early years of YouTube, where he worked as a Production Accountant and Project Manager on large and small projects alike. This is where his passion for building collaborative client partnerships began and what eventually led him to look outside of the purely video world and into training and services. Perfect landing spot: automätik. When his wife or friends can peel him away from the computer, it’s usually to go hiking, SCUBA diving, golfing, craft brewery hopping, or, most importantly, to spend time with family.
If you are facilitating a meeting or a corporate event, it is always good to begin with some sort of pre-session activity. You may think these are unnecessary and waste time, but an interactive and constructive pre-session activity sets the stage for a successful and productive meeting.
When you hear the word “PowerPoint,” what comes to your mind? Many would say their thoughts include boring corporate events, long-winded presentations, and possible snoring. PowerPoint slide decks can be illustrative, dynamic visual aids, but they are more commonly designed in a way that prompts audiences to nap rather than engage.
While clip art may have once served a useful purpose for you or your organization, there are now a plethora of ways to avoid it and find higher quality alternatives instead. We promise, your quest to banish clip art will be easier than you think, and, ultimately, by using better images and illustrations in your presentations and documents, you’ll produce more impactful work.
